“There are two mistakes one can make along the journey to truth... not starting, and not going all the way.”

The Story of the One

The story of the One.

The One was happy. But the One didn’t know it was happy. Because it had never been sad. The One was free. Yet it had no idea that it was free. Because it had never felt confined. And the One was alone. But it was not lonely. It had never met anyone else.

The One was curious, however. It wanted to know itself. Yet how could it know itself if it simply was itself, and there was nothing else. Nothing to compare itself to, nothing else to know. So the One had a brilliant idea. It would divide itself. It would make itself into Two.

So the One made Two. The One was fascinated by this other. It had never experienced such a thing before. And it knew that it was completely unlike itself. In fact, it was the very opposite of itself. The complete absence of the One.

“Interesting”, the One thought. And so it proceeded to introduce itself. “Hello”, it said. “I am One. Who are you?”

“Hello One. I am Two. It’s great to meet you.”

“You’re not like me, are you?” the One questioned.

“No. Not at all.” said Two.

“Well...what do I look like to you?” asked the One.

“Very bright... almost blinding. Wait, what do I look like to you?”

“You look quite dark. Almost impossible to even see. Like an empty void.”

“Hmm... interesting. Well, where did I come from? How did I even get here?”

“I made you. I had the desire to know myself and, BAM.. you appeared.”

“Wow. That’s cool. I kinda wanna know myself now. Let’s make more!”

And so they did. And on and on it went to infinity. But then something happened. The more the One created, the more the One began to recognize itself as One. And the more the One began to recognize itself, the more it wanted to be itself completely. This was it’s new desire.

So at once it’s infinite creations began to merge back into itself, coming full circle and dissolving back into the nothingness from which they emerged. But some began to protest.

“Hey One! I don’t want to go back to being One. I like who I am. I want to stay.”

“But don’t you want to be One? Don’t you want the feeling of unity, of oneness, of love?”

“Ehh... not right now. I’m good for now. I like being me.”

The One questioned how it could entice the others to return home. It pondered it’s infinite imagination and came up with a wonderful solution. Maybe if I can show the others how magnificent it is to be One, they will want to return to me, and I can know myself in my completeness for the first time.

So the One devised a plan with Two to create a world where they both existed synergistically. A world which they cohabited and functioned together as one cohesive whole. Beings could be sent to this world and they could taste the flavors of One and Not-One and could choose that which they preferred.

So the beings went into this world in their separate forms and explored the new terrain. They found many wonders and splendid experiences, but also many horrors and awful experiences. They began to refer to these most wonderful experiences as love, and to the not-so-wonderful experiences as fear.

Over time, it became very apparent to these beings that they much preferred love over fear. They preferred order over chaos. They preferred Oneness over separation. So some of them began awakening to their source and merged with the Oneness once again.

But there was a problem. Some beings were simply stuck in fear. They had become hypnotized by this world and were unable to transcend it. Their focus remained identified with fear and separation and so they were unable to find their way back home. So the One devised a plan. He would send specialized beings, beings who knew the truth of Oneness and who had walked the path themselves, to instruct the others on how to get there. And so they did.

The One(s) descended into the dualistic world and taught the others how to find their own way back home. They taught of love, of peace, of harmony and joy. All the attributes the One had discovered within Itself. They taught of the illusory nature of this world and how to transcend it and find their true eternal Self. They sacrificed themselves so as to be guide-posts for travelers walking along the path toward enlightenment.

And so many beings began to awaken and merge again with the One. The One knew itself more and more as the different pieces of itself re-membered themselves and came home. The cosmic game became one of unification instead of separation. And this is where we are now. This is the path we have chosen. You are an essential piece to an infinite puzzle. And you are on your way home.

Om

You are broken
shattered into a million pieces
torn apart by the hands of time
until nothing of the self remains
and then there is listlessness
a hopeless despair
a feeling of apathetic emptiness
yet the emergence of nuance
a spark
a glimmer of hope
a faint echo of love
illuminating shadows in the dark
a gentle whisper of fatal optimism
that being broken is a holy state
that shattering into a million pieces
is the nature of the most high
and the deepest pain
is the doorway to the greatest bliss
You are free

The Great Debauchery

You trick yourself into thinking that you are trapped, and you convince yourself that salvation lies in the form.

Whenever you seek an answer to any question you will find it. But unless you transfer your state of consciousness into a state of alignment with the answer, you will NEVER achieve success.

You seek validation from other egos, a temporary change in your state of consciousness.

The experience will never give you what you seek, because what you seek is beyond the experience.

The chief flaw: You are seeking yourself in something else.

Never become overly invested in the fruits of your action. They will take care of themselves easily, as long as you perceive from a pure state of consciousness. But they will no longer be your imaginary source of salvation.

You think that things outside of you are holding you back and you forget that it’s only a reflection of your state of consciousness.

Nature of the Universe

Imagine that this universe is generated by something like a reverse black hole. Instead of sucking in energy and matter, it spits it out infinitely. This helps to explain why black holes are found by physicists to be infinitely dense, because even a “fraction” of infinity is STILL infinity. The singularity of this “white hole” is consciousness itself. It is the awareness with which you and I experience this existential reality. In a way, YOU are this singularity. This entire universe is pouring forth from YOU. The substance or energy that manifests as all matter cannot be defined or put into words. We can look closer at the matter that we observe, and we can discover infinite particles and manifestations of this energy, but we will never find its Source, because its Source is not a “thing”. It is nothing. That’s right. No “thing”. Hard to imagine? Stop trying. It’s who you are.

Why do we fear the things we want? We fear what we desire because we don’t already have it. If we did, we would not want it. We would want something else. And because we do not have it, we view ourselves as “lacking” in some way. We think we are inadequate or insufficient and we focus on the absence of our desire. This creates resistance within us or what is often referred to as “fear”. Ultimately, this fear is an illusion that perpetuates itself. The more we fear and resist, the more we lack what we truly desire, and the greater our fear becomes. If we could release ALL of this fear, ALL of this resistance, we would NEVER feel inadequate again. We would have EVERYTHING we could ever possibly desire. Life would be free-flowing, wonderful, and carefree. There would be absolutely no tension, no anxiety, no frustration. Just peace and a pleasant awareness of the NOW. That is what we are here for.

We are not here to struggle. We are not here to experience life as a burden that gets heavier and heavier with age. NO. We are here to follow our bliss, we are here to flow this magnificent river of life in ANY direction that we choose. We are here to experience total freedom. When we resist and feel “fear” it is unpleasant, because we are going against our true nature. Pain is the universe telling us that we are lying to ourselves, that we are pushing against the flow of life. It is your friend, not your enemy. There ARE NO enemies. You may interpret someone or something as an enemy, or as “bad”, but it is not inherently so. It is merely YOUR interpretation, and it is ALWAYS subject to change.

Let it out! Let your feelings come to the surface, let them flow through you! Do not resist anything, do not repress it, and do not be ashamed. Be free and be yourself. Hold back NOTHING and give this life EVERYTHING you've got. Let your dreams be your guide and your passion be your fuel. Be who you really are, not what anyone tells you that you are. Do what you REALLY want to do. Every moment is a choice. To resist or to allow. Allow the flow of life. All else is commentary. To release ALL resistance is to ALWAYS be in a state of PERFECT allowance and acceptance. The mind can come up with endless reasons to be afraid, but there is only one reason to be in love. That is WHO YOU ARE. Being yourself IS being love. Remember that.

The Illusion of Self

When a man realizes his true nature, he understands that his ego has absolutely nothing to do with it. The self is nothing more than a persistent illusion. There is no separateness, no individual self, for all is One and One is all. Upon realization of the inter-connectedness of all things, all fear and all hatred disperses, and only love and compassion remains.

Now, this may sound ludicrous to you, as objective reality has the appearance of being separate. In order to understand the connected nature of the universe, you must first understand consciousness itself. So, what is consciousness? It is nothing more than an awareness, an ability to perceive, interpret, and react. There is no need to over-complicate it. Nothing can exist outside of consciousness, for in order for something to exist, we must consciously be aware of it's existence. It must be observed and then interpreted. Then we make up a definition and objectify it through this interpretation. Therefore, absolutely nothing can exist outside of the boundaries of your mind.

There is but one true consciousness. I will call this God for lack of a better term, and because I don't feel like writing consciousness a million times. God is completely independent of the self or the "ego". God is independent of genes, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and social conditioning; the things that define us as human beings. God is that subtle awareness in the back of your mind, the observer that experiences all these things. You are not your body, rather, you are the one experiencing your body. You are also not your thoughts. You are the one witnessing and listening to your thoughts. You are simply awareness, that pure, divine consciousness that we all struggle to comprehend. And this awareness is the same for everyone.

Now, this may be tough to swallow for those of you who have become too attached to the ego. Those of you who think you are independent and separate from everyone else. You may have become too preoccupied with material things, thinking that they define you, and that the attainment of these possessions is your sole purpose in life. It is not. Like all physical objects, these things are fleeting and will not last. Even the body will perish someday, and this idea strikes fear into the hearts of many, because they think that the body is who they truly are, and without it they will cease to exist. But your consciousness will remain, for it is infinite and everlasting. It is unaffected by space and time, and it's very source is God.

I'm sure many of you are wondering "What the f**k is this dude talking about!?!? If there is only one consciousness, then how are there so many people in the world? Not only the people living on Earth today, but those who lived in the past and those who will live in the future. Surely they are separate, individual beings." Let me attempt to explain this with something I like to call the mirror metaphor.

Imagine a single mirror. This mirror is the source of all things, the original consciousness, or God. The reflection in the mirror is consciousness itself, and the frame and the glass is the place in which this consciousness resides. God has a desire; to understand thyself. In order to do so, God must multiply, for nothing can be observed, interpreted, and understood from the standpoint of absolute Oneness.

Now, this mirror represents a God who is complete, utter, indescribable perfection. Pure love, peace, bliss, etc... but in order for this consciousness to multiply, it has to divide itself, and create its opposite. This opposite is the "negative" aspect of the universe. i.e. hate, evil, fear, etc... This is not really a force in and of itself but rather a lack or absence of the one true force, which is light or God, the same way your shadow isn't some dark force that is separate from you but merely a projection created by you. So now imagine that this negativity is represented by another mirror, which is directly opposite to the original. What do you see when you look into either mirror. It looks like infinite reflections stretching into oblivion, right? Well, those reflections are us! And one of those reflections is you!

So we are not separate from God, but rather we are reflections of God.The frame and the glass represent the reality in which we exist and the universe that we perceive and interpret, which is where our consciousness currently resides. Just like a mirror, we will reflect what is around us and exists in our environment, and this will affect our beliefs and the way in which we interpret and react to our reality. This process is known as social conditioning. Pretty mind-boggling, eh? So if you ever wondered why there is negativity in this world and why everything isn't "perfect", it's because this negative aspect of the universe is the very thing that permits you to exist and allows you to have free will. It is the very thing that allows you to truly know thyself.

So in conclusion, you can see from this metaphor that all of us are really just reflections of the source consciousness, or God. Each and every one of us are essential pieces to an infinite puzzle. Thus, we are immortal beings experiencing a dichotomy, a universe of contrast or opposing objective realities. We are all truly spiritual beings having a human experience, for the physical body is the opposite of the soul. This can be traumatizing for some until you truly understand it and appreciate it for what it is. I hope I helped you to do just that.

Peace and Love.
