The Heart Knows the Way

As a whole, we as humanity are very shut down from our hearts and from the messages that our hearts are constantly sending us- our feelings. We do what sounds right in our heads, but we rarely do what feels right in our hearts. This leads to an unsatisfactory life of feeling lost, discontent, and unfulfilled. The mind is good at analyzing, at picking stuff apart and gathering an intellectual understanding of different things, concepts, and ideas, yet it has no awareness of your feelings, which are your inherent guidance in life. It simply disregards them and goes on thinking. Your feelings always come from the heart.

The feelings that you have as a human being are your deepest intuitive faculty and they literally connect you to your soul, or what is sometimes referred to as your higher self. They are like a compass that can be used to effectively guide you through life. Your heart is literally the apparatus that translates feeling into a sensation that you can consciously recognize, one you regard as either good or bad, pleasant or unpleasant. The heart, unlike the mind, will never mislead you. It always renders an accurate interpretation of whatever you are focused on, and whether this focus and behavior is actually healthy and beneficial, or not.

Think of a time when you felt your best, a moment of intense love and joy. You likely felt an opening and expansion in your chest, a warming of the heart. It was likely at a time when something positive and wonderful happened in your experience. Now think of a time when you were totally devastated, in a state of “heartbreak” and despair. You likely felt a closing and sinking feeling in your chest, a cold and calloused sensation in the heart, and this probably occurred at a time when something terrible happened in your life. This is the nature of feelings, of emotional sensation, and it is always based in the heart.

The more we listen to our minds and only our minds, the more lost we become in an endless maze of chaos and confusion, the more we disconnect from our feelings, from our true passion and purpose in life, and the more we simply do what our conditioned mind tells us we “should” do, which mostly comes from our inherited dysfunctional belief patterns given to us by our parents and the society we were brought up in.

But the more we can learn to listen to our hearts, the more we are able to connect with our truest and most authentic selves. We focus our attention on the heart space and we listen to the way we feel, paying more attention to that than to the thoughts that we are thinking with our minds. We discover our path and purpose in life and feel a deep sense of inner fulfillment, contentedness, love and joy. We listen to our intuition, our emotions, which if followed will always lead to our highest good.

Whenever you can follow a feeling of love, warmth, openness, and expansion, you will inevitably be moving towards everything you have ever genuinely desired in this life. You will uncover the deepest secrets of this Universe, not in a way that can be mentally conceptualized and interpreted. No, in a much deeper and more profoundly experiential manner. You won’t think, you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free : )

The Best Solution

A different way of looking causes a total shift in all that is perceived. The observer and the observed are inseparable, they are one and the same, as are the journey and it’s destination.

A problem is no different than it’s solution. In fact, a problem equals its solution. This is represented in mathematics. The problem or the equation equals the solution of that equation, which is clearly demonstrated with the “equals” (=) symbol. Therefore, a particular way of looking at or interpreting the problem brings one to the particular solution to that problem.

For instance, look at the simple math problem 5+2=7. Now why is this true? This is true because the principles of mathematics indicate that 2 parts in addition to 5 parts creates a total of 7 parts. In truth, this is pretty abstract yet appears quite specific when one understands basic mathematical principles. An onlooker could rightfully ask, at least from a philosophical standpoint, why 5+2 could not equal 8, or in fact equal 6? This is because the symbols 6 and 8 possess different qualities than the symbol 7, and the equation 5+2 does not add up to or reflect these particular qualities.

So given this example, any problem in life adds up to a solution that possesses particular qualities, and the nature of the problem is directly related to the nature of it’s solution. Analyzing or interpreting the problem rationally using the foundation of certain universal principles will bring one to a specific solution which reflects the inherent nature of the problem itself.

A solution can be the solution to multiple problems, yet a problem only has one best solution. For example, 7 can be the solution to the problems of 5+2 and 4+3. Yet the best solution to both of these problems is 7. You could rightfully state that 5+2=6+1, but that is not the best solution. It is correct, yet not the most concise. So as any problem in life can have multiple solutions, yet it only has one best solution.

Let’s look at a real life example. Let’s say that you want to get to the store as quickly as possible. This is your challenge, or “problem”. Now, there are multiple routes to the store, but only one of these routes is the fastest route possible.

Now all three routes, green, blue and red, are viable solutions; meaning all three solutions work. But only one solution is the best. This is clearly the red path because it is the most direct and therefore the fastest route to the store.

This reflects the fact that all problems have multiple working solutions, but only one best, most specific, most precise solution.

So all solutions are simple reconfigurations of the original problem in a way that is more concise, more specific, more easily and inherently functional. Simply put, problems are more complex and chaotic whereas their solutions are more simple and orderly. A problem is completely open whereas a solution is fixed and concrete. The problem “What should I eat for breakfast” is totally open. There are infinite possibilities, infinite possible answers to that question. But only one answer is best. So you meditate on it. You feel intuitively what your body desires. Suddenly, an apple comes to mind. Okay. Apple is the clear and concise solution to this problem. All possibilities have been narrowed down into one. The problem is solved in the best way possible.

Everything in life can be addressed in this way. Most people have the issue of fiddling around with half-assed, mediocre solutions. They don’t bother finding the best solution possible. What is 5+2, you ask? Oh, that’s easy... 1+2+1+1+2. Great job. You just made the solution even more complicated than the original problem. This is what most people do, and they wonder why they are drowning in a sea of complexity and lost in a maze of confusion.

What should I eat? What is the best diet? Oh well I need my iron and my folate, my phosphorous, magnesium and zinc. I also need my b vitamins, vitamin a, c, k, d, x, y, and z. Blah, blah, blah. On and on it goes. Should I eat plants or animals? Lettuce or spinach? Dirt or asphalt? An infinite maze of complexities have arisen from the simple question “What should I eat?” Your logical mind has run away with the problem and is now spitting up various solutions the way a sprinkler spits out droplets of water.

Here’s a tip: instead of addressing the mind for solutions, address the body first, specifically the heart. This comes back to the idea of specificity, of a clear and concise solution that is best. The head, or the mind, is infinitely abstract, vague, and ambiguous. This is clear when you ask “What is the mind?” There is no clear-cut and specific answer. It’s like the cloud, the ether, or God. Too abstract to be defined in a definitive way. But what about the body? Well, that’s clear. It's right here, right in front of you. It’s the first thing you see when you look in the mirror. It’s the first thing you feel when you wake up in the morning (that and morning wood, if you’re a dude ; ). So if you want a clear-cut, specific, and definitive answer, it is best to first address the body. Feel on an intuitive level before going to the logical and rational mind. “What should I eat?” Feel it intuitively. “What should I do today?” What does your heart tell you?

It seems counter-intuitive, doesn't it? The intuition, the heart...they seem so abstract, so ethereal. Yet in reality, they will always bring you to the clearest answer, to the very best solution. Because the body is clear, it is defined, it is solid. It is not some etheric abstraction. It is present here and now. And it will always give you the best answer. Guaranteed : )

The Great Debauchery

You trick yourself into thinking that you are trapped, and you convince yourself that salvation lies in the form.

Whenever you seek an answer to any question you will find it. But unless you transfer your state of consciousness into a state of alignment with the answer, you will NEVER achieve success.

You seek validation from other egos, a temporary change in your state of consciousness.

The experience will never give you what you seek, because what you seek is beyond the experience.

The chief flaw: You are seeking yourself in something else.

Never become overly invested in the fruits of your action. They will take care of themselves easily, as long as you perceive from a pure state of consciousness. But they will no longer be your imaginary source of salvation.

You think that things outside of you are holding you back and you forget that it’s only a reflection of your state of consciousness.

Nature of the Universe

Imagine that this universe is generated by something like a reverse black hole. Instead of sucking in energy and matter, it spits it out infinitely. This helps to explain why black holes are found by physicists to be infinitely dense, because even a “fraction” of infinity is STILL infinity. The singularity of this “white hole” is consciousness itself. It is the awareness with which you and I experience this existential reality. In a way, YOU are this singularity. This entire universe is pouring forth from YOU. The substance or energy that manifests as all matter cannot be defined or put into words. We can look closer at the matter that we observe, and we can discover infinite particles and manifestations of this energy, but we will never find its Source, because its Source is not a “thing”. It is nothing. That’s right. No “thing”. Hard to imagine? Stop trying. It’s who you are.

Why do we fear the things we want? We fear what we desire because we don’t already have it. If we did, we would not want it. We would want something else. And because we do not have it, we view ourselves as “lacking” in some way. We think we are inadequate or insufficient and we focus on the absence of our desire. This creates resistance within us or what is often referred to as “fear”. Ultimately, this fear is an illusion that perpetuates itself. The more we fear and resist, the more we lack what we truly desire, and the greater our fear becomes. If we could release ALL of this fear, ALL of this resistance, we would NEVER feel inadequate again. We would have EVERYTHING we could ever possibly desire. Life would be free-flowing, wonderful, and carefree. There would be absolutely no tension, no anxiety, no frustration. Just peace and a pleasant awareness of the NOW. That is what we are here for.

We are not here to struggle. We are not here to experience life as a burden that gets heavier and heavier with age. NO. We are here to follow our bliss, we are here to flow this magnificent river of life in ANY direction that we choose. We are here to experience total freedom. When we resist and feel “fear” it is unpleasant, because we are going against our true nature. Pain is the universe telling us that we are lying to ourselves, that we are pushing against the flow of life. It is your friend, not your enemy. There ARE NO enemies. You may interpret someone or something as an enemy, or as “bad”, but it is not inherently so. It is merely YOUR interpretation, and it is ALWAYS subject to change.

Let it out! Let your feelings come to the surface, let them flow through you! Do not resist anything, do not repress it, and do not be ashamed. Be free and be yourself. Hold back NOTHING and give this life EVERYTHING you've got. Let your dreams be your guide and your passion be your fuel. Be who you really are, not what anyone tells you that you are. Do what you REALLY want to do. Every moment is a choice. To resist or to allow. Allow the flow of life. All else is commentary. To release ALL resistance is to ALWAYS be in a state of PERFECT allowance and acceptance. The mind can come up with endless reasons to be afraid, but there is only one reason to be in love. That is WHO YOU ARE. Being yourself IS being love. Remember that.

The Illusion of Self

When a man realizes his true nature, he understands that his ego has absolutely nothing to do with it. The self is nothing more than a persistent illusion. There is no separateness, no individual self, for all is One and One is all. Upon realization of the inter-connectedness of all things, all fear and all hatred disperses, and only love and compassion remains.

Now, this may sound ludicrous to you, as objective reality has the appearance of being separate. In order to understand the connected nature of the universe, you must first understand consciousness itself. So, what is consciousness? It is nothing more than an awareness, an ability to perceive, interpret, and react. There is no need to over-complicate it. Nothing can exist outside of consciousness, for in order for something to exist, we must consciously be aware of it's existence. It must be observed and then interpreted. Then we make up a definition and objectify it through this interpretation. Therefore, absolutely nothing can exist outside of the boundaries of your mind.

There is but one true consciousness. I will call this God for lack of a better term, and because I don't feel like writing consciousness a million times. God is completely independent of the self or the "ego". God is independent of genes, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and social conditioning; the things that define us as human beings. God is that subtle awareness in the back of your mind, the observer that experiences all these things. You are not your body, rather, you are the one experiencing your body. You are also not your thoughts. You are the one witnessing and listening to your thoughts. You are simply awareness, that pure, divine consciousness that we all struggle to comprehend. And this awareness is the same for everyone.

Now, this may be tough to swallow for those of you who have become too attached to the ego. Those of you who think you are independent and separate from everyone else. You may have become too preoccupied with material things, thinking that they define you, and that the attainment of these possessions is your sole purpose in life. It is not. Like all physical objects, these things are fleeting and will not last. Even the body will perish someday, and this idea strikes fear into the hearts of many, because they think that the body is who they truly are, and without it they will cease to exist. But your consciousness will remain, for it is infinite and everlasting. It is unaffected by space and time, and it's very source is God.

I'm sure many of you are wondering "What the f**k is this dude talking about!?!? If there is only one consciousness, then how are there so many people in the world? Not only the people living on Earth today, but those who lived in the past and those who will live in the future. Surely they are separate, individual beings." Let me attempt to explain this with something I like to call the mirror metaphor.

Imagine a single mirror. This mirror is the source of all things, the original consciousness, or God. The reflection in the mirror is consciousness itself, and the frame and the glass is the place in which this consciousness resides. God has a desire; to understand thyself. In order to do so, God must multiply, for nothing can be observed, interpreted, and understood from the standpoint of absolute Oneness.

Now, this mirror represents a God who is complete, utter, indescribable perfection. Pure love, peace, bliss, etc... but in order for this consciousness to multiply, it has to divide itself, and create its opposite. This opposite is the "negative" aspect of the universe. i.e. hate, evil, fear, etc... This is not really a force in and of itself but rather a lack or absence of the one true force, which is light or God, the same way your shadow isn't some dark force that is separate from you but merely a projection created by you. So now imagine that this negativity is represented by another mirror, which is directly opposite to the original. What do you see when you look into either mirror. It looks like infinite reflections stretching into oblivion, right? Well, those reflections are us! And one of those reflections is you!

So we are not separate from God, but rather we are reflections of God.The frame and the glass represent the reality in which we exist and the universe that we perceive and interpret, which is where our consciousness currently resides. Just like a mirror, we will reflect what is around us and exists in our environment, and this will affect our beliefs and the way in which we interpret and react to our reality. This process is known as social conditioning. Pretty mind-boggling, eh? So if you ever wondered why there is negativity in this world and why everything isn't "perfect", it's because this negative aspect of the universe is the very thing that permits you to exist and allows you to have free will. It is the very thing that allows you to truly know thyself.

So in conclusion, you can see from this metaphor that all of us are really just reflections of the source consciousness, or God. Each and every one of us are essential pieces to an infinite puzzle. Thus, we are immortal beings experiencing a dichotomy, a universe of contrast or opposing objective realities. We are all truly spiritual beings having a human experience, for the physical body is the opposite of the soul. This can be traumatizing for some until you truly understand it and appreciate it for what it is. I hope I helped you to do just that.

Peace and Love.
